paladin; important links.
paladin; the lutonium revolution.
with humans never existing long enough to scar the earth, other creatures came to hold their spears high and to accomplish magnificent feats. these animals were the highly developed canines -- wolves, to be specific. however, it wasn't only wolves who became talented warriors and created intricate hierarchies and ranking systems-- their feline enemies also evolved into a higher level of intelligence than the other animals around them.
it took more than 2 000 years for these animals to evolve into the armor-wielding warriors they are today. the wolves have learned to force their own armor and trinkets alike from a special metal called lutonium -- lutonium was almost like clay; easily worked if kneaded and beat. it was found in the deepest of caverns, hidden with the pockets of the magnificently glimmering crystals and other ore. for a long time lutonium wasn't rare. it was quite common, really. however, most canines would rarely venture down into the dark depths of caves to discover this special object.
as the years continued to pass and more and more animals came to find themselves deep within the darkness of lutonium mines, the demand for lutonium sky-rocketed. it was originally only used to mold trinkets and hard toys for the animals' entertainment. however, when the demand went up, the molders (called kalamons for males and kalamaias for females) became more curious into what lutonium could really do-- they began testing new techniques and began making more and more intricate items. that is, until, one, very skilled, kalamon came up with the idea of body armor. he said the idea came to him when his son, dar-far, came to him with numerous cuts and broken bones from a fight.
the kalamon felt sympathetic for his son, knowing he would only be put into more pain with the up-coming war between community rivalries. the kalamon then, prodding his son for blind consent, turned to his wielding station and began work on his body armor. at first, dar-far declined the offer, cynical to the fact that his father tended to be a bit eccentric. however, when his father explained to him the idea, dar-far was quick to accept letting his father use his body as a base.
after collecting enough lutonium to make the armor, further dug into his work. his son, eager to test out the armor, did anything he could to help his father out.
after a month or so, the basic design of the armor was done. dar-far suggested a spar between his father and him to test the armor. the kalamon agreed and they went to the colosseum.
upon sparring, kalamon developed a view on the armor's strong points and weak points. it held up and caused much more limited damage than what would have come to dar-far.
this new advancement in lutonium was soon released to the general public and every kalamon and kalamaia was working to perfect the original kalamon's design.
with lutonium in such high demand, the collectors (called keosa for females and keosai for males) were doing much more collecting of the item. soon, however, with lutonium not being a renewable resource, the mines began to dry up and the lutonium levels were low within the land of the wolves.
the felines watched in a dread-filled silence, the wolves as they developed new technologies and uses for lutonium. they had not had such an advancement in quite some time. they learned to craft items and forge lutonium, like the wolves. however, their armors and buffs were not nearly as good as the wolves'. they were either weak or just totally useless.
the felines, struggling to get the buffers of the wolves, used their clever wits and planned random attacks on the wolves. this soon started a war between the wolves and the felines-- a war of development.

paladin; the aftermath.
with the lutonium mines running low in the wolf land, some of the keosas and keosai venture out into the lutonium-rich feline territory. the hunters who patrol the borders of the feline land could easily spot the intruders who, trying to be reasonable and heading to the head of all kalamons and kalamaias of the feline lands to request access to their lutonium mines, were spotted in their tracks by the hunters who, without even listening to their reasoning, quickly discarded their pleads for access to their mines and forced them back into wolf lands. the hunters left a bitter taste in the keosa and keosai's mouths, giving them the idea that they did not want anything to do with the wolves any longer.
for years the felines and wolves has lived in peace with each other. however, being the greedy and jealous cats they are, the felines will not allow the wolves access to their lutonium stocks (though useless to the felines) or even their mines.
as the months -- years -- passed and the lutonium continued to rapidly climb in its value and the wolves continued with the pleads and their bribes, the felines became more and more upset with the fact that they could not wield as good of body armor and other useful items as the wolves. ten years after the lutonium revolution, the felines has finally had enough with the wolves. the scheming had begun.
the felines would soon put their conniving plans into action and launched an attack on the wolves. their fleets stood no chance to the well-equipped and lutonium-armored wolves that they were to face. most of the felines fell pathetically, some putting up a fair fight before they fell. it was clear that the felines could not defeat the armored wolves. but they did not stop; they continued to battle on with the wolves for five months before all of the fleets fell and the war had come to an abrupt end.
the wolves who had taken quite a long and drawn-out beating from the felines, rested their heads, wary of what was to come of the felines after their armies were built back up. they could only anticipate an even worse attack.
not to their surprise, innocent wolves were being assassinated and taken captive by (presumably) the cats. however, the wolves would not fall to the feline menaces. they stood strong, though their lutonium stocks dwindled and their armors began to break, though the attacks of the felines, planning an attack onto the feline kingdom.
